The cheering person in the background…that timing cannot be coincidence

Playing Left 4 Dead the usual way, me and my friend in the safe room. One of the computer controlled characters on the outside while we wait for him to be a successful bait and have the hunter and various special murdery zombies attack him instead of us, when he starts shooting randomly at nothing. It didn’t even look like he was aiming at all. He was shooting for quite a while
I start saying “I..What even is he—”
when all of a sudden he is tackled off screen by a zombie.
I don’t think I’ve ever gone ‘Oooohhhh’ with more understanding than that moment.
It was totally his own fault though, it’s not like we can lock the safe room door once we unlock it. He could have easily opened the door and come back in. Clearly just didn’t want to. Not our fault he couldn’t aim for shit either :P
will you join in our crusade? who will be strong and stand with me? somewhere beyond the barricade is there a world you long to see? do you hear the people sing? say, do you hear the distant drums, it is the future that they bring when tomorrow comesssss!!
i assume this is something to do with Les Mis? yes? alright then, thats just fantastic since i know basically nothing about it.
